Bonnie Dunlap has been re-elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance, an organization that supports and promotes health care and medical education among the citizens of the Commonwealth in conjunction with the Massachusetts Medical Society, the statewide professional association of physicians. An active member of the Alliance, Mrs. Dunlap was re-elected at the Annual Meeting of the Alliance held on May 25, 2022. She had served as vice president from 2018-2019 and president-elect of the Alliance from 2019-2021
After attending college in a liberal arts program Bonnie decided on a career in nursing. She went on to graduate from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. Her first position was as a staff nurse in a combined ICU/CCU at N-WH where she met her husband, Dr. Ronald Dunlap, a Tufts medical student. She then went on to work at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge as a surgical ICU nurse for twenty years, followed by 24 years as a peri-operative nurse, retiring from the surgical pre-testing department in 2017. She is an alternate representative from the alliance on the MMS committee for Diversity in medicine, and also participates on Martha's Vineyard Community Services committee which promotes racial diversity and understanding among the islanders.
