WALTHAM – Dr. Thomas A. Morris, a Brockton-based solo practice pulmonologist, and past president of the Plymouth District Medical Society, has been honored by the Plymouth District Medical Society as their 2024 Community Clinician of the Year awardee.
Dr. Morris, a United States Navy Veteran and a long-time member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, is recognized by his peers for his exceptional care of his patients and his dedication to the MMS and Plymouth District Medical Society. In addition
to his time as president of the Plymouth District, he has served for 30 years on various committees of the Society.
Dr. Morris received his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine in 1981 and completed his residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center in1984 and fellowship in pulmonary disease at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School
in 1986. He then began private practice in Brockton at the Brockton Hospital. He is diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonary disease and a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and the American
College of Chest Physicians. He served as a commander in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy in the Global War on Terror from 2006 to 2019. He is an active Freemason.
