The Medical Society is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Health Care Affordability Working Group established by Governor Healey to address rising health care costs in Massachusetts. Health care is a human right, and our patients deserve universal, equitable access to high-quality care. Persistent affordability barriers prevent many patients from obtaining needed care and lead to poorer health outcomes, particularly for patients in underserved communities and those with lower incomes. The physicians of the Medical Society are committed to working collaboratively on solutions that ensure all patients can access the care they need.
