Massachusetts Medical Society physicians applaud the leadership of the Healey-Driscoll Administration in taking action to reduce financial barriers and promote access to coverage and care for our patients. Health care is a basic human right, and the Commonwealth today reaffirmed that it will not stand idle. The health of our patients is threatened because they are unable to afford and access essential health care. Too often, we see
patients forgoing appointments, rationing medications, or making excruciating choices between paying for health care or other necessities. Today’s action is an important step to protect access to health care for our most vulnerable patients.
