Dr. Meghan Gump honored by Franklin District Medical Society as 2023 Community Clinician of the Year

Meghan Gump

Dr. Meghan Gump, a family medicine physician with Valley Medical Group in Greenfield, has been selected as the Frankin District Medical Society’s 2023 Community Clinician of the Year, an award recognizing her professionalism and contributions as a physician.

Gump, a native of Southern Vermont, earned an undergraduate degree from Haverford College and returned home to attend University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine.

She was drawn to primary care during her medical training and had the opportunity to complete her residency in San Jose, Calif., which broadened her medical knowledge from rural family practice to inner-city care.

Gump joined Valley Medical Group in 2004. She starts most days with a mountain bike in the state forest, catching sunrise before she heads to work. She finds joy every day in being a “small town doc,” building connections with her patients and gaining their trust so that she can be a part of their life and health journey is what fills her up.
